May Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day - Moving on edition

So I couldn't resist.  About 2 weeks ago, I went over to my last garden to see if the iris (Pacific Coast  Hybrid I believe) had bloomed.  And they had!
I had been waiting for them to bloom all spring and they hadn't before I moved.  I was so excited to see them in flower, even though I don't live there to enjoy them.  The next pic is a little hard to see, but the purple of the iris looks great with the white of the snow-in-summer.
And just 2 days ago I went to see if the native honeysuckle had bloomed.  I feel like an addict, I just can't get enough.  It was the last plant in the front yard that hadn't bloomed.  Well that and the Rocky Mountain penstemon, but I've give up on those.  Well the honeysuckle has finally bloomed as well.
There were other surprises as well, like this yellow lupine with Salvia chamaedryoides in the back.
Or this guy.  I'm not sure what it is.  Might be a weed or a wildflower.  But it looked nice in the afternoon sunlight.
And in the backyard, there were tons of poppies and phacelia.
A new renter has been found and she's very excited about the garden.  Seems it was one of the main reasons she wanted to live there.  So that makes me happy.  And Happy bloom day to you all.  Thanks to Carol at May Dreams Garden for hosting this great excuse to get out and take pics of our gardens.

  1. As a renter myself, I'm so glad to hear that your garden has been inherited by someone who appreciates it.

  2. Brad how wonderful! The Iris look beautiful, as does the rest of the garden. I'm still waiting for our native honeysuckle to start blooming...I see buds, but as yet, no blooms. So glad the new renter will enjoy the garden, and hopefully continue to care for it.

  3. I can see why you've become such a junkie to this garden- you did an awesome job! So glad the new tenant loves the garden and it sounds like it will be in good hands. The flower of the mystery plant looks like a Checkerbloom, but the leaf doesn't. Hmmm... Can't get over those Lupines- most excellent.

  5. Nice. That's quite a lupine. I like the honeysuckle flowers. The two in my garden have never bloomed, though one is budding for the first time.

  6. Hi, Brad!
I do the same thing -- though, hopefully, you won't be as silly about it as I am. I STILL drive by my house in Minneapolis to make sure they are taking good care of my flowering almonds. :) I sold that place 10 years ago so I really should be 'moving on.' :D Happy Bloom Day!

  7. I'm going to be potting on a couple flats of hairy honeysuckle today that I grew from local native seed - they are easy! I hope I can find good homes for them all in Fall - I hope to share them with neighbors here. I rented homes for several years and I was a terrible gardener. I look back on those days with regret. I just didn't have a clue, and I felt bad for the landlords.

  8. The garden looks great. I know how much work you put into it and am glad that the new renter will enjoy your hard work. On to the next garden!! Which will be another great creation.

  9. I wish a garden loving renter would move in next door to me. If the current occupant were to do a bloom day post this month it'd be all sorts of yellow-flowered weeds. Nice that you can visit your old garden and find that all your hard work is being appreciated by someone.

  10. Ahh, that's a bit bittersweet, huh? So, are you planting a new garden?

  12. Such a pretty iris. I can see why you keep going back to your old garden. After I moved from my last house I heard that the new owners took a lawnmower and weedwacker to the entire front garden and replaced it with sod - I can't bring myself to go back and see what they've done to the back yard!
Thanks for stopping by my blog - nice to have 'met' you :-)
