The First Frost
Probably not so interesting for those in other colder regions, but we had a good frost last night. There was a layer of frost on everything this morning in the garden. Including our unhappy looking, found somewhere or another, garden bear. He looks how I felt all day. It's been cold. Our high was somewhere in the upper 40s. I never expect the Bay Area to be as sunny and warm as most tourists do, but I feel a little cheated all the same.

It was quite chilly in the Bay Area this morning, 27 degrees here in Santa Cruz when I woke up. Your poor bear does look rather forlorn and frosty. Maybe he'll cheer up with the rains later in the week...at least it should warm up a bit. Brrrr.
ReplyDeleteTuesday was cold down here in San Diego as well, and it was already a couple weeks ago when I saw my first little patch of frost on the commute to work in a spot where the cold air sinks from all around. Winter's on its way!
ReplyDeleteThat little bear looks cold. How sad.
ReplyDeletePoor bear. But isn't there a little goose of excitement when the season changes so strikingly. Hope y'all are warming back up to Bay Area expectations!
