First off, I'm very happy to announce the first of the Western Columbine in the front yard (Aquilegia formosa) is blooming. It has two fully opened flowers and a bud about to open. This is one of my favorite flowers.
Also both of the manzanitas are now blooming. I believe this one is Arctostaphylos bakeri `Louis Edmunds'. 2 of the 3 are in full bloom. Not too full since they were only planted a little over a year ago.
And also the Ribes malvaceum is in full show. I'm very impressed with this little guy.
The hardenbergia is finally busting out.
Thanks as always to Carol over at May Dreams Garden for hosting Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day.

Great presentation. I hope this is an indication of Spring spreading across the Nation soon. Happy Bloom Day.
ReplyDeleteGood show! My columbine isn't even budding out yet, but I'm hoping a few sunny days will make a difference.
ReplyDeleteGreat show! Happy bloom day!
Wow! I've seen columbines in full flower, but I've never seen one in bud before.
ReplyDeleteGreat collection, Brad! I don't run in to the columbines in the wild very often, but when I do it's a memorable moment. I've just planted the same ribes, but I suspect I'll have to wait until next season for flowers.
ReplyDeletealoha,
ReplyDeletewow, what a great show your getting this morning, beautiful!
I love Hardenbergia and mine are also in full bloom. Your Columbine is beautiful....I love the orange and yellow color combination.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYa I'll second that wow! I'd love to have a western colombine. I love those blossoms. My deer-free area isn't shady enough for them - I think the small critters might nibble them too, not sure, but they haven't done well for me as yet.
ReplyDeleteWhat interesting blooms! I wonder if any of them would like living in the Texas Hill Country. I bet the columbine would. Happy GBBD!
ReplyDeleteGracious, that Ribes is blooming it's heart out! Good show!
