Here's two lupines. First is a miniature lupine (I think, though it might be a phlox) pushing it's seed pod off. The second is from a larger lupine that has blue and yellow flowers. Not sure about the name.
Berries to be. Strawberries and Manzanita blooms about to open. I think I'm gonna try manzanita berry cider this year.
A columbine seedling and several other things ready to grow.

New columbine babies - my favorite flower - always bring a smile to face. IMHO - there can never be too many Columbines in a garden! :)
ReplyDeleteHow in the world did you resist the urge to pull off the seed husk?! And that fuzzy lupine leaf looks like it deserves a soft pat on the head. So sweet.
ReplyDeleteOh how exciting! I've planted Arroyo Lupine this year, but they're still sleeping. I can't wait to see ours pop up. Your Manzanita is so pretty, we really should plant more of that here too.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love lupines and have never viewed them as closely as your camera shows. I love seeing the tiny leaf beginning to emerge.
ReplyDeleteLove the first two shots. It always strikes me as a pretty burly task to get out of some of those seed casings. It does feel like spring is here this week.
ReplyDeleteI just about go mad in spring with the beauty and everyday miracles of nature unfolding all around!
ReplyDeleteI really like the second lupine. I have some "stinging lupines" starting up from seed, but I'm only now beginning to appreciate how most of them come bristled. I can really see it in that photo.
